Thank You for Another Extraordinary Year
I’ll keep this brief. The end of 2021 is upon us, and after two years of interesting times, I want to express my profound gratitude for all you have done for SWOG. Despite the resurgence of the pandemic, you have kept us on course and indeed helped us advance. I thank you, and I’m sure our patients would too. I’m still hoping for a better 2022, complete with face-to-face meetings (fingers crossed!).
Remember that the end of the year is a major fundraising time for most organizations. The Hope Foundation has been critical in helping SWOG navigate these past two years. As we need them, so they need us. Please give.
Finally, I want to congratulate Dr. Karen Kelly, SWOG’s lung committee chair, on her appointment earlier this week as CEO of the International Association for the Study of Lung Cancer. The IASLC couldn’t have chosen a better candidate, and I know the organization will make amazing progress under her guidance.
The IASLC’s gain, however, is SWOG’s loss, as her appointment means Dr. Kelly will leave her current SWOG role, which she has held since 2016.
