It’s hard to keep up with the latest in cancer research. Things change so quickly within our specialties and in the field as a whole. With COVID, it’s especially challenging. We’re handling more and different clinical responsibilities, juggling revised research projects, and if you’re a parent, well, there’s online school to manage.

That’s why we’re bringing you a second installment of our “Best of SWOG” webinar next week, Jan. 27, at 12 noon PT. Register here for this one-hour webinar, where you’ll get the latest SWOG Cancer Research Network study results.

We’ve selected our highest impact conference presentations given since July 2020, when we held our first “Best of SWOG” session. It’s a great mix of work that spans treatment trials for rare cancers, breast cancer, and colorectal cancer, and also the role of hope in end of life care and a look at racial diversity in cancer clinical trials.

It all gets presented in fast-paced, high-level summaries that give you the news – quickly – with time for a few questions.

Here is the line-up, including the presenting SWOG investigator, their research committee, and the conferences where the work was first presented:

- Young Chae, MD, MPH, MBA | DART rare cancer trial update | Early Therapeutics and Rare Cancers Committee | 2020 Society for Immunotherapy of Cancer

- David Feldman, PhD | Hopefulness survey | Palliative and End of Life Care Committee | 2020 ASCO Quality Care Symposium

- Kevin Kalinsky, MD | S1007 or RxPONDER results | Breast Cancer Committee | 2020 San Antonio Breast Cancer Symposium

- Michael Overman, MD | NRG GI004/SWOG 1610 colorectal cancer results | Gastrointestinal Cancer Committee | ASCO GI

- Joe Unger, PhD | Clinical Trial Participation | Cancer Care Delivery Committee | 2020 ASCO Quality Care Symposium

I’m grateful to every one of these members for giving us the benefit of their expertise and their time. I hope to see you Wednesday for this great round-up of our latest and greatest work.
