Eligibility Criteria Expand/Collapse

Suspected low-grade intracompartmental chondrosarcoma as determined by criteria detailed in Section 5.1. No cortical disruption and/or soft tissue mass detected on imaging. Disease assessed by radiographs and either CT or MRI within 42 days prior to registration. No presumptive axial (spinal) involvement. No multifocal disease as evidenced on bone scans within 42 days prior to registration. Chest radiograph within 42 days prior to registration. Submit radiographs and specimens for central review, and seek consent for optional testing. Complete S0344 MSTS Functional Evaluation within 42 days prior to registration. 18 years of age or older. No prior chemotherapy, radiotherapy, biologic therapy, or investigational anticancer agents for any reason for this tumor. No prior surgery (except biopsy) for this disease. No prior malignancy except: adequately treated basal cell or squamous cell skin cancer, in situ cervical cancer, adequately treated Stage I or II cancer from which the patient is currently in complete remission, or any other cancer from which patient has been disease-free for 5 years.
