• Sending Encrypted Emails from the VA

  • There is a VA approved method of sending encrypted emails outside of the VA system from your VA Outlook.  However, to use this system for research activities, you must first obtain ISO, PO & IRB approval for each study with which you intend to use it.  After obtaining all the necessary research approvals, follow these 3 easy steps to get the Virtru plug-in for Outlook installed on your VA workstation:
     
    • Complete training in TMS: #VA33054

    • Enter your local site staff information into the spreadsheet

    • Draft a justification – which may include your IRB approval letter
       

  • Email a copy of each of the 3 above listed items to Brenda L. Rather  Brenda.Rather@va.gov or VA.Virtru@va.gov
