Some ideas improve with age. Our "Best of SWOG" webinar – an hour of SWOG investigators sharing results of SWOG research directly with SWOG members – was a great idea (not mine!) born of pandemic lockdown.

Since then, it’s gotten even better. We now offer BOS twice a year; you can earn Continuing Medical Education (CME) credits by attending; the audience is bigger than ever (January’s event set an attendance record); and recordings of the webinar on our YouTube channel have garnered hundreds of views.

Our next Best of SWOG installment – the summertime, ASCO version – takes place Wednesday, June 26, 2 – 3 pm ET / 11 am – 12 pm PT. Register now to add it to your calendar.

Here’s the list of presenters, topics, and primary research committees:

  • Meghna S. Trivedi, MD, MS – S1714 results (symptom management & survivorship)
  • Kevin Kalinsky, MD, MS – hormone levels to predict chemo benefit  (breast cancer)
  • Lajos Pusztai, MD, DPhil – new prognostic tool for node-positive disease (breast cancer)
  • Joseph Unger, PhD – fatigue and risk of adverse events (symptom management & survivorship)
  • Jill Hamilton-Reeves, PhD, RD, CSO – S1600 results (symptom management & survivorship)

Though I’ve had the honor of hosting all previous Best of SWOG webinars, this time I’m going to have to catch the recording – I’ve been invited to Washington, DC, that day (I’ll have more to say on that front in a future Front Line).

Instead, SWOG Group Co-Chair-Elect Dr. Dawn Hershman and SWOG Vice Chair for Translational Medicine Dr. Lee Ellis will moderate.

I hope it’s another event to remember!
