Chicago meeting plenary will address the changing cooperative group system
These are interesting times for cancer researchers, especially those who work with the National Cancer Institute (NCI) supported clinical trial cooperative groups.

The plenary session at this fall's SWOG Group Meeting in Chicago will address a question at the forefront of many minds: What changes are coming to SWOG and the cooperative group system?

In spite of the regional signifier in its name, the Southwest Oncology Group has been a national organization for much of its existence. For most of the 1970s, for example, the SWOG Operations Office was based in Kansas City, just a few hundred miles from the geographical center of the contiguous United States.
